Every BarCamp event I am involved in usually surprises me to some degree. Today was a huge surprise as we had an amazing group of attendees and presenters. Although BioCamp drew a smaller crowd than GreenCamp or BarCamp, that was to be expected given the tight nature of the event: biosciences.
Most of all, I was envigorated with most everyone's energy around improving the entrepreneurial spirit in the life sciences, particularly in Houston.

Contrary to popular belief, the last rule of
BioCamp isn't, "if this is your first BioCamp, you have to present." We recognize that not everybody wants to get up in front of a crowd of people and start talking. That said, the format of BioCamp doesn't work unless a non-trivial fraction of attendees volunteer to present something.
